Shine bright. Live your light.

Meet Nicky, founder of Hikari Life
Nicky is a calm and happy yoga and qigong guide who encourages people to soften, breathe and notice how they feel. She is deeply inspired by Eastern wisdom and movement practices, and seasonal self care practices, and loves to share her knowledge and good vibes with people so that they can drop the stress and find life easier. In her classes, everyone is welcome to be, just as they are. Nicky loves hosting retreats because they offer a necessary pause from busy lives and provide a perfect nest for deep rest and genuine transformation. It’s so important to slow down, take stock, and just be, together.
Nicky is an advanced Strala Yoga guide, therapeutic yoga specialist, and Shiatsu practitioner who has been teaching for over 10 years and practising yoga since the mid-90s. A 1000 hour trained teacher, Nicky studied in New York, Berlin, Geneva, and London with Tara Stiles and Michael Taylor, founders of Strala, and Chinese Medicine modules with Tiffany Cruickshank, founder of Yoga Medicine. As a specialist in Sleep, Female Health, Chronic Fatigue and Mental Health & Wellness, she is here to support you on your journey to feel happy and healthy. She is also a certified Yoga for Menopause teacher and Yoga for Cancer Therapist.
Health and happiness have always been central to Nicky’s world, and she enjoyed careers as a tennis coach, worldwide cabin crew, and project manager before pausing for a year in Paris. During that time, she chose to follow her heart and become a yoga guide. Strala introduced her to tai chi, qigong, shiatsu and Chinese Medicine theory, and the rest is history!
Her training began with Strala and she is so grateful that it did. Like the founder Tara Stiles, Nicky is always looking to do things in a better way - feeling good from the inside is so much more important for your health than perfecting a pose. She has been deeply inspired by Eastern wisdom, movement and self care practices and she loves to share her knowledge and good vibes with people to help them be happy and healthy.
In 2026, Nicky created a team of holistic practitioners at The FIT Partnership in Esher and leads retreats for Adventure Yogi. Being part of a team and a community lights her up. Together is always better.
Nicky has two lovely girls, now spreading their wings, at uni and beyond. She loves spending time with them and also enjoys playing tennis, being in nature, and weekly rituals with her husband, Martin, such as walking over the hill to Cavan Bakery for a coffee on Saturday mornings. The magic of life is in the little pockets of joy and connection.
